I am a fully qualified teacher who cares deeply about students finding joy and success in their Maths studies. Dynamic, enthusiastic, confident and highly motivated, I have been tutoring high school Maths up to the IB Diploma and A level with TutorsPlus for over 10 years. Now retired from a career in information technology, I also bring 30 years of experience constantly learning, teaching and coaching in this field to my skills as a tutor.

I hold a joint degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics and a Postgraduate Certificate of Education in Mathematics. I taught high school maths in Scotland for several years after leaving university before embarking on a career as a computer programmer. I have been tutoring since 2013, broadening my exam preparation work in line with the varied courses offered to international students. My approach is based on the following: Maths is easy. Maths is fun. If this is not true for the student then they have missed a fundamental idea or concept. My job is to identify these gaps and ensure that the missing knowledge is replaced in a way that demonstrates the student's real ability and the joy of the subject.
