I am a graduate (cum laude) from the painting program of the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy and spent four years teaching art at universities before transitioning to a career as a school teacher in 2014. A passionate life-long learner I'm known for my creativity, adaptability and positive relationships with my students. I headed my previous school's High School Art Department and currently teach studio art, ceramics, and graphic design in the most prestigious school in Turkey. I am an IB Visual Arts Examiner for the HL Process Portfolio and Extended Essay. Alongside my teaching and artistic pursuits, I have a passion for languages and have been a professional fiction and non-fiction book translator since 2002.

I hold an Associate Degree in Graphic Design and Illustration from the Italian International Institute Lorenzo de Medici in Florence, as well as a master's degree in Printmaking from the International Printmaking School, il Bisonte. I further pursued a second master's degree in Visual Arts before beginning a PhD program in Art History. I have lectured Printmaking, Drawing and Art History Fine Arts and Graphic Design at University level.

I started teaching PYP in 2014 and three years later took a position as Head of the High School Art department, where I started teaching the IB DP Visual Arts HL programme. I have been an IB DP Visual Arts HL Process Portfolio examiner since 2020, and as of May 2023, I have also served as a Visual Arts Extended Essay Examiner. I couple deep subject knowledge of Art History and technical skills in various disciplines of Art with a motivating and contagious passion for the subject. My experience as an examiner ensures my students know how to excel in the requirements of the DP course.
