I like to say I specialise in supporting students from 7 to 70 years old in their English, French or German language development. Whether it be an additional language they are learning at school or for work, or as they settle into school and life in a language that is not their own, I am skilled at quickly increasing confidence and fluency. I support exam preparation for the IB, IGCSE, A Level, French Bac and Swiss Maturité, alongside the DELF and French for Swiss Citizenship.

I have a BA Honours Degree in French and German as well as a Certificate of Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I have been teaching since the mid-80s, starting with English and quickly adding German and French to the languages I tutor. I develop a great rapport with my students and, over my decades teaching, have helped hundreds of students improve their pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and overall comprehension.

My approach to tutoring is to listen carefully to what the student needs and to establish a climate of trust. During the period of tuition, I am always ready to reassess my strategy and tweak it as necessary. I believe that each student is different: one may need to raise his or her grades rapidly, whilst another may need to develop effective learning strategies or simply build up confidence. I will try to guide them on their journey to the best of my ability.
