I have over 30 years’ experience teaching mathematics in various school systems and I have not stopped loving it! I am currently an examiner for the IBO in the subjects Maths AA HL and SL as well as Internal Assessment moderator. I also tutor Maths AI SL. As a full-time tutor now, I am flexible with regards to scheduling lessons and enjoy working across different time zones. I have had extensive experience teaching international students whose first language is not English and very much enjoy interacting with people from different backgrounds and cultures. I love helping young people achieve their goals and greatly enjoy the challenge of explaining a concept in different ways until my student understands it.

I specialise in Maths AA (HL and SL) and Maths AI (SL) and have thorough knowledge of the subject matter of these courses. I was previously both IB Diploma Coordinator and Head of Mathematics before moving to full-time tuition. In the past few years, I have taught both in-person and livestream IBDP exam preparation courses, Mid-IB courses, Pre-IB courses and accelerated exam retake courses. Since the pandemic, I have refined my tutoring skills to make optimal use of technology to enhance my lessons.

I bring humour into my lessons and get to know my student well so that they can enjoy their lesson and realise that learning maths can be fun and rewarding. I am very flexible and can alter the course of a lesson if the need arises. I like to tailor the lesson to the needs and wishes of my student, focusing on areas of weaknesses so that the student can enjoy success. My specialty is preparing students for tests and exams, especially the final Diploma exams. I have a wealth of past exam paper questions on every topic and can easily access material on any topic my student requests. I have been told that I am calm and patient and I truly enjoy seeing my student finally grasp a concept that they may have been struggling with for a long time.
