Not only do I have a wealth of experience in a wide range of subjects, and a passion for the Humanities, I am also an IB History examiner and an IB Extended Essay moderator for Global Politics & Geography. Students appreciate my enthusiasm and breadth of subject knowledge. I enjoy research and have guided many students to complete successful EPQs and Extended Essays. In addition, I am experienced in working with English language learners as well as neurodiverse and gifted students. I care deeply about making sure the needs of the individual are met and I use my skills as an internationally accredited Life and Performance Coach to help final year students manage the workload and excel personally and academically.

I hold a BA in History and Theology, a MA in History, and a Postgraduate Teaching Certificate. I taught for over a decade in the UK and oversaw the Oxbridge entry of many of my students before moving to work in prestigious boarding schools in Switzerland. I confidently and enthusiastically teach a wide variety of subjects including Global Politics, Geography, History, World Religions, and TOK up to IB Diploma level.

As an experienced Head of Humanities in both A Level and International Baccalaureate, I know the requirements of these programmes and ensure students are provided with and helped to meet subject specific criteria, especially for independent work such as Extended Essays or Internal Assessments. I recognise how challenging it can be to balance the requirements of the IB, for instance, and I'm known for helping my students reduce any anxiety they might be feeling by writing simple lists and helping them plan how to get everything done.
