About:
I am an IB ESS expert, having taught and tutored the course since 2019. Alongside my teaching I create ESS content for study and revision on a variety of online learning platforms and can definitely say I am very familiar with the curriculum and its requirements, including the new ESS curriculum (first exam 2026). Additionally, in 2022 I became an IB ESS examiner. I am an expert with internal assessments and extended essays and provide students with the required strategies for their official exams. My students appreciate my creativity and calm approach, and have gone on to achieve great results in the IB Diploma.
Teaching experience and approach:
After completing undergraduate studies in Biology: Earth and Life Sciences, I went on to complete a master's in Phytoecology in 2018 before starting my teaching career the same year. I specialise in the IB ESS course, and am Academic Advisor and assistant to the Secondary Principal of my school. Alongside my teaching, as Head of ESS Content for a popular IB learning platform, I create exam-style questions and solutions as well as explanatory videos for IB ESS and also for IB Biology. I draw upon my knowledge as an examiner to ensure my students are familiar with strategies such as responding appropriately to the command terms, point counting and time management.
