About:
For over two decades I have thoroughly enjoyed being a very successful teacher of English Literature and Language & Literature as well as Theory of Knowledge in four very highly regarded IB World Schools. I have been an examiner for IB English and I also tutor iGCSE and A Level with ease. I am a specialist in supporting IB students with their Individual Oral, Internal Assessments and Extended Essays. Exam success relies on mastery of the material but also a genuine enjoyment of the subject. My students trust that all lessons are goal oriented, highly focused and "inspirational'.

Teaching experience and approach:
I have a BA English Literature and a MEd in Educational Leadership and am currently pursuing a PhD in Literature and Cultural Studies. I have been Head of English thrice and held several leadership positions in secondary education, including Director of Innovation at my previous school. I have lived and worked in four countries and have been inspired by the internationalism and diversity in those contexts. I am able to quickly boost the confidence of my students and identify the areas in most need of improvement, making sure to set clear goals to work towards. I very much enjoy helping students along their journey to success and my students say they always look forward to our sessions and quickly gain new knowledge and skills.

ParentI used Tutors plus for my daughter who has dyslexia. I particularly like that they listened to my needs and paired her with Alan who had experience of using innovative and alternative styles of tutoring to reach her learning style. It was a personal service rather than a blanket service. I was contacted intermittently to confirm all was on track.
