About:

Hello! I’m a qualified teacher from Germany with 30 years of experience in the classroom. I specialise in German and English Language and Literature, and tutor to the IGCSE, IB, Swiss Maturité and French Baccalauréat curricula. For over 10 years I’ve been teaching the IB programme, supporting students in both German and English A, B and Ab-Initio, at MYP and DP levels, including SSST programmes for German A: Literature SL. I offer expert guidance in preparing for all IB assessment components, including internal assessments, Paper 1, Paper 2, and the Individual Oral (IO). I am trained as an IB examiner for Paper 2, which gives me valuable insight into what examiners are looking for. I care deeply about each of my students' confidence, progress and engagement in their learning and create highly personalised tuition.

Teaching experience and approach:

After completing my MA in German, English and Russian Language and Literature, I went on to complete a teaching degree in German and English Language and Literature, and Language Acquisition in 2003. Since then, I have taught in international schools across Singapore, France, and the Middle East. I believe that the student should be at the centre of their own learning. Each lesson begins with listening: What would the student like to learn? What are their current goals? Is there something they would like to revisit, revise, or approach differently? From there, I adapt my teaching to support not only the student’s individual learning needs and preferences but also the subject-specific requirements and the expectations set by the school and curriculum. To sum it up: no two online lessons are ever alike. Each one is shaped by the student’s voice, interests, and progress—making learning both personal and purposeful.
