Extended Essay & Internal Assessment

If you have a complete draft, our IA or EE package includes 1 hr for the tutor to read your IA or EE, plus a 1 hr verbal feedback session.

If you are in the earlier stages you can book sessions with the tutor at their standard hourly rate.

Tuition may include some of the following depending on the needs of the student;

Early stages:

• reviewing evaluation criteria with you to make sure you understand the terminology used and the IB’s expectations. 

• guidance for framing the key question. 

• going through past IA or EE samples so you understand what an excellent IA looks like. 

• timetabling and setting realistic goals to work towards your IA or EE. 

• revising subject matter that is the source of an issue in the IA or EE. 

Final stages: 

• highlighting areas that are unclear or that need extra work, giving general comments or using questions to guide you to your own conclusions. 

• reviewing writing skills, including referencing and citing sources accurately.

Tuition will not include the following;

• written comments on the first draft (only the teacher who will mark the IA or EE is allowed to comment on first draft). 

• give detailed written comments and explicit explanations on how to improve the IA.

Our tutors are experienced with the IA and EE and know how to achieve the highest points on the criteria. Some have extensive experience in moderating IAs and EEs with the IBO. They can offer expert advice and suggestions to the best of their knowledge but bear in mind that this may differ from the advice given by your class teacher. When in doubt, it is best to consult with the official published IBO guidelines to ensure you have fulfilled the criteria.
