1. Course Objectives

The Kick start your Extended Essay course is a comprehensive, month-long initiative designed to equip IB Diploma students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel in their EE journey. With 2 interactive sessions per week, this program will demystify the EE process, guide students in topic selection, and provide essential toolsfor research, writing, and academic integrity.

What does the course include?

Will I get to see examples of Extended Essays?

Yes! You’ll review real examples of high-scoring Extended Essays to understand what success looks like. You’ll also learn how to avoid common mistakes and gain insight into how your work will be assessed.

How much does it cost & how do I pay?

Once you’ve booked your EE course, we’ll send you an invoice by email for 500 Swiss Francs per course, which you can pay in a way which suits you. For example, you can pay via bank transfer, or Twint, if you are in Switzerland or Wise transfer or credit card if you are outside of Switzerland. Consequently, we will confirm your place as soon as we receive your payment.

Will I be helped to write my EE?

Yes, within the ethical guidelines of the IB. You’ll get support on how to write your Internal Assessment effectively, without crossing the line. Your tutor will help you develop your ideas, and help you think through your revisions, ensuring the work is your own.

Is this course IB Compliant?

Absolutely. All support is provided within the ethical guidelines of the IB. Our tutors help you develop your own ideas and improve your work—without doing it for you. The goal is to empower you to succeed independently.

Who will teach the EE course?

IB examiners and moderators teach all our Summer courses. In fact, because they have deep knowledge of the EE marking criteria, they know exactly how to guide you. You can browse through the profiles above to look in more depth at our EE teachers. Moreover, you can also look at the IBO site for rules on academic integrity.

What if I want to do more than one course?

Yes, many students take multiple short courses, especially if they’re working on more than one EE or IA. Let us know your needs, and we’ll help you build a schedule that works.

I’m not available in August, are there any other dates?

No problem at all! In fact, if you can’t fit in one of our Summer EE courses, we offer IB IA tutoring online year-round. Most importantly, our flexible one-to-one sessions mean you can still receive IB IA coaching no matter your availability or time zone.
Likewise, if you have a group of at least 2 friends who would like to run this course on a different date, please get in touch and we can arrange this.

Finally, whether you’re in Geneva, Lausanne, or elsewhere in Switzerland (or beyond), students will receive personal help from our expert tutors.

Will I learn how to structure my EE?

One of the main goals of the course is to help you build a strong structure for your Extended Essay. From crafting your research question to planning your methodology and analysis, you’ll gain a clear framework to follow.
