Frequently asked questions

When is IB Results Day 2026?

IB Results Day 2026 takes place on 6 July 2026. Students can access their results through the IB candidate portal once their school has released them.

What should I do if my IB results are lower than expected?

Don’t panic. Review your university offers, speak to your school counsellor and consider whether an IB remark (Enquiry Upon Results) may be appropriate. Many students still secure university places even if they miss their original offer conditions. Join our Webinar on 1st July so you are prepared.

What is an IB remark?

An IB remark, officially known as an Enquiry Upon Results (EUR), involves having an examiner review your assessment. Remarks can result in marks increasing, decreasing or remaining unchanged.

Is it worth requesting an IB remark?

An IB remark may be worthwhile if you are one or two marks away from a higher grade or if a grade increase could help you meet your university offer conditions.

What happens if I miss my university offer?

Many universities review applications individually and may still accept students who narrowly miss their offer. Students may also explore alternative courses, universities or UCAS Clearing opportunities.

Can IB students use UCAS Clearing?

Yes. IB students are eligible for UCAS Clearing if they do not hold a confirmed university place. Clearing allows students to apply for available university courses after receiving their results.

How long does an IB remark take?

Most IB remarks are completed within a few days to a few weeks, depending on the subject and time of year. Students should check university deadlines before submitting a remark request.

Can I retake IB exams?

Yes. Students can retake IB subjects in a future examination session to improve their results. Retakes are commonly taken in the following examination session, subject to school availability.

Will universities wait for an IB remark?

Some universities may hold a place while awaiting the outcome of a remark, but policies vary. Students should contact their university admissions team as soon as possible.
