About:
I have been teaching Physics for over 30 years and IB Physics since 1995. As an Examiner, Moderator I know every detail of the IB programme. I also train IB Physics teachers worldwide, as an IB Workshop Leader, since 2008. It is important for me to take great care to get to know my students' main challenges and address them. This means that they gain confidence and start to excel in the subject. My students never leave a lesson without a thorough summary of what was achieved and suggestions for independent work ahead of the next lesson. As well as the IB Diploma, I have also taught AP Physics.

Teaching experience and approach:
I hold a MSc in Physics and a BSc in Physics and Computer Sciences and have been teaching high school students since 1992. Over the years I have been an IB Physics examiner, moderator, and course outline reader. I am committed not only to Diploma students' understanding of the course. My deep knowledge of the course makes me well placed to guide students to achieve great results from their Physics Internal Assessments, Extended Essays and their final exams.
My students say I am knowledgeable, patient and caring. I am able to communicate complex ideas very clearly and dedicate the time necessary to make sure every student realises their full potential. My lessons always have a clear focus that explicitly addresses the student's goals. This is because I am thorough and detailed in my approach. Each lesson I make sure students finish confident and clear about what they have achieved.

ParentI used Tutors plus for my daughter who has dyslexia. I particularly like that they listened to my needs and paired her with Alan who had experience of using innovative and alternative styles of tutoring to reach her learning style. It was a personal service rather than a blanket service. I was contacted intermittently to confirm all was on track.
