Miltiadis

I am an IB Biology and Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) specialist, with over 15 years' experience teaching at prestigious international schools. Currently, I am the IB Diploma coordinator at my school. Also, I am an official IB examiner since 2016. I emphasise ensuring my students learn how to navigate the IB syllabus. It is important that they understand its format and assessment criteria. This gives them confidence in their revision and exam techniques. I plan my lessons with precision and creativity, tailoring my approach to each individual student. This guides them towards realising improved grades and increased motivation for their studies.

I obtained my BSc in Biology and then pursued a PhD in Marine Biology. Then I worked as an assistant university lecturer from 2007-2009 working as a post-doc researcher in European and national-funded research programmes. I started teaching the IB Diploma in 2010. My first goal when tutoring is to understand individual student needs. Once this is clear I create tailored learning plans based on the student’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals. In each class I help my students by providing materials, often through interactive media. I focus on past papers and use them to boost student understanding and, therefore, confidence.
