About:
With twelve years of experience teaching at international schools in Europe, I have worked across the IB MYP and DP, as well as IGCSE, teaching English, History, Geography, Global Politics and Theory of Knowledge within top-tier schools and as a freelance academic coach. With respect to IB, I am an examiner for both TOK and History and have guided hundreds of students through every stage of the IB journey, from Internal Assessments to final exams, with an emphasis on personalised learning and deep understanding. Trained in both pedagogy and counselling, I bring together discipline-specific expertise with a holistic understanding of how nervous system regulation, neurotype and emotional awareness shape learning. As a lifelong learner driven by curiosity, and having grown up moving between countries and cultures myself, I love creating a space where students feel supported, inspired and empowered to thrive in school and beyond.
Teaching experience and approach:
I completed a BA Politics and Development and a MSc Development Management before undertaking a Postgraduate Certificate of Education. My teaching has spanned IB MYP English Language Acquisition and Individuals and Societies, IB DP English B, Global Politics, History and Theory of Knowledge, IB MYP English A and Individuals and Societies, and IGCSE English Language and Literature, History and Geography. I also support students with study skills, including academic writing, research, time management and neurodivergent learning strategies.
My teaching philosophy is interdisciplinary and conceptual, aiming to spark the same curiosity in my students that has driven my own lifelong learning. I tailor each lesson to the unique interests, goals and learning styles of the individual student, combining content mastery with effective learning and exam strategies, and structured, assessment-specific guidance for Internal Assessments and final exams. My interactive, empathetic approach draws on my training in counselling as well as pedagogy, helping students build both academic skill and personal resilience. My aim is for every student to leave our sessions feeling more confident, capable and genuinely equipped to succeed in their studies and beyond.
