Alexandros

I bring over 13 years of experience teaching and tutoring Physics, with particular expertise in the IB DP as well as AP, IGCSE and A Levels. I am also a lead Physics textbook author and expert reviewer for the IBO-certified Kognity platform. My academic background and research span Physics, astrophysics and theatre, giving me a unique, interdisciplinary approach to teaching and communication. Combining deep subject knowledge with creativity, I make complex concepts accessible, engaging and meaningful: elements that are key to student success in independent coursework such as IB Internal Assessments and Extended Essays. My student-centred approach strengthens critical thinking, supports exam success and fosters a lasting appreciation for Physics. I love working with young learners and helping them discover just how rewarding this subject can be.

I hold a BSc in Physics and an MSc in Astronomy & Astrophysics. As former Head of Physics at my previous school, I designed and delivered the full IB Physics curriculum, supervised over 150 Internal Assessments and more than 25 Extended Essays. My lessons were recognised by the Greek Ministry of Education as exemplary IB models, and I have participated in IBO workshops on concept-based and inquiry-driven teaching. I also prepare IB exam revision courses.

My teaching philosophy is centred on making complex ideas accessible without losing their depth, drawing on my interdisciplinary background in Physics, astrophysics and theatre. In sessions, I make full use of past papers, tailored online resources and individualised strategies to address each student's specific needs. Through this approach, my students strengthen their critical thinking, build genuine confidence and develop the exam technique needed to achieve their full potential in Physics.
