About:
I am a dynamic and dedicated Chemistry tutor with over two decades of experience teaching up to IB Diploma level, IGCSE and A Level. As an examiner for IB, A Level, and IGCSE (EdExcel/AQA), I have an inside view on what is needed in an exam to hit the higher grades. As an IA moderator since 2005, I provide insightful support to IB students preparing their Internal Assessments and Extended Essays. I couple my passion for Chemistry and in-depth subject knowledge with a friendly, supportive approach that boosts students' confidence in the subject.

Teaching experience and approach:
I have taught in top international schools across Asia and Europe and currently work in the UK, where I hold a leadership role. Alongside my teaching and examining experience, I have developed course materials and written articles to support other IB teachers. I have a proven track record of motivating and helping students to improve their results. I have also been involved with training teachers to teach the IB Chemistry course so know the strengths and weaknesses of the course well.

ParentI used Tutors plus for my daughter who has dyslexia. I particularly like that they listened to my needs and paired her with Alan who had experience of using innovative and alternative styles of tutoring to reach her learning style. It was a personal service rather than a blanket service. I was contacted intermittently to confirm all was on track.
