A certified teacher, I have two decades of teaching experience spanning top Ivy League universities and top IB schools across Europe and North America. I specialise in English A, English B, Theory of Knowledge, Spanish Ab Initio, and French Ab Initio. I am also an IB Examiner for English and TOK and my expertise covers the Individual Oral, the TOK Exhibition and Essay as well as Internal Assessments and Extended Essays. Teaching experience and approach:
I hold a BA in English Literature, a Master of Comparative literature and Hispanic studies and a PhD in Hispanic studies. My two decades of teaching experience of English, Spanish and French across three continents have furnished me with a comprehensive understanding of all procedures relating to the implementation and delivery of IBDP, IGCSE and A Level programmes and how to adapt to each student's individual learning style.
In our online sessions, I adapt my approach to match your learning style - whether that's discussion-based learning, or hands-on practice with past papers. I will share tools that are designed not just to prepare you but to instill a sense of confidence that empowers you to excel. Beyond English and TOK, I bring extensive experience in teaching IB French and Spanish, both of which I speak at a native level. ParentI used Tutors plus for my daughter who has dyslexia. I particularly like that they listened to my needs and paired her with Alan who had experience of using innovative and alternative styles of tutoring to reach her learning style. It was a personal service rather than a blanket service. I was contacted intermittently to confirm all was on track.
