I am an active IB DP Theatre Examiner since 2023 and IBEN member, with over a decade of experience teaching Theatre and Drama, including in IB World schools across MYP, DP and IGCSE curricula. I currently consult remotely training teachers on IB Theatre, as well as tutor students taking Theatre and Drama studies across the globe. My work as an examiner gives me direct insight into how mark schemes are applied, and that is what shapes everything I bring into my sessions. Before teaching, I spent 12 years in professional theatre as a writer, actor and director, and that creative background still fuels my passion for the subject. I love helping young people find their voice on stage and grow in confidence, both as people and as performers and creators.

I hold a Diploma in Drama and have completed IB professional development across the MYP and DP, including an IB DP Theatre Category 1 workshop with ISTA and MYP Category 1 and 2 workshops on curriculum delivery and the Visual and Performing Arts. I have also undertaken specialist training in physical theatre, voice and movement throughout my career. My teaching career has progressed through several IB World Schools, moving from MYP Theatre into DP Theatre at HL and SL, and I now support schools remotely as an IB Theatre consultant. I coach students through all four assessed components of DP Theatre, MYP Drama and e-Portfolio preparation, and IGCSE Drama.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in practical, performance-based learning combined with a clear understanding of assessment criteria, drawn directly from my work as an examiner. In sessions, I work through past papers and exemplar material, break down mark schemes, and tailor each session to the individual student's strengths and areas for development. I draw on my past experience as writer, actor and director to help students grow into confident performers and well-prepared IB/IGCSE candidates.
